Art-viewing, inspired creative writing

A selection of images based on the Green canopy theme was chosen by the Activities Coordinator at Mental Health Matters and her team of staff. They were printed out as postcards and laid out for participants to choose. Words to describe the images formed the starting point to make the artwork.

The process was inspired by artist Edmund de Waal’s ‘palimpsests’ - poetry written into porcelain and artist Makoto Fujimara’s ‘Nihonga’ (Japanese painting).
