About Arting

Arting* was founded during 2020 to develop Arts in Health workshops and projects with a range of organisations, artists, and partners throughout South East Wales.

Arting’s workshops and projects are tailor-made for each client, from an extensive toolkit of creative processes, including:

  • Traditional art techniques: drawing, painting, printmaking, textile art, collage, etc.

  • Contemporary Digital Art & Design: interactive art, touch capacitance sensors, audio recordings, and installations.

  • Crafting skills: stitchwork, making, weaving, collage, and other sensory processes.

All of the processes have a focus on the health benefits which engaging in art has on our mental and physical health.

All delivery is currently through English only, but Arting aims to work with Welsh-speaking artists to deliver inclusive bilingual Arts in Health projects in the near future.

Welcome//Croeso

Shwmae! My name’s
Marion Webber, founder and creative lead

I have over 10 years experience of a socially engaged art practice and since 2016, I have been working within the field of Arts in Health. Originally from London, I gained my Degree in Fine Art Printmaking from Central St. Martins and spent the first part of my career working in print design and fashion. My artist name is ‘Marion Cheung’. After moving to Wales in 2004, I began to move towards participatory arts and discovered my true passion – delivering arts projects which encourage everyday creativity for people to live better with health conditions.

I have completed a Master’s degree in Arts Practice, Arts, Health and Wellbeing, awarded a Distinction in 2021.

My Clients Say

“The process of the project has been great, with skills workshops and plenty of creative input from the participants. Marion has had a clear vision of what she wants but at the same time has been willing to accept lots of ideas. That must be difficult for an artist: I really admire the way she has controlled the project with such light hand and we can all be very proud of the finished article.”
